The Head of OTC Sales will spearhead the OTC sales division in Japan, playing a pivotal role in business development and client management. This position is responsible for overseeing a team dedicated to delivering bespoke cryptocurrency solutions to institutional investors, family offices, hedge funds, and other high-net-worth clients. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the cryptocurrency market, exceptional sales and relationship management skills, and a proven track record in developing and executing sales strategies that enhance the firm's market presence and revenue within the OTC crypto sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to drive revenue growth and increase market share for the OTC crypto trading desk.
- Lead, manage, and motivate the OTC sales team to cultivate relationships with institutional and high-net-worth clients, consistently achieving sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Establish and nurture strategic relationships with key clients, including hedge funds, institutional investors, and family offices, who are engaged in substantial cryptocurrency transactions.
- Act as the primary liaison for key accounts, providing tailored solutions, insights, and support for complex OTC transactions.
- Identify and pursue new client opportunities and emerging markets to enhance OTC crypto trading volume and revenue.
- Collaborate closely with the trading desk, risk management, and compliance teams to ensure seamless transaction processes.
- Build and expand the OTC sales team by recruiting, training, and mentoring top-tier talent.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture, equipping team members to effectively build client relationships, close significant trades, and meet ambitious performance goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA or advanced degree is highly regarded.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in OTC sales or institutional trading, with a focus on digital assets or cryptocurrencies.
- Demonstrated success in sales, evidenced by a strong track record of acquiring and managing high-net-worth and institutional clients within the crypto or financial markets.
- In-depth experience in the cryptocurrency industry or with digital assets, along with a comprehensive understanding of OTC crypto trading mechanics.
- Strong knowledge of financial products, blockchain technology, digital asset trading, and the market structure of the crypto landscape.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with senior executives and clients.
- Proven capability to devise and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth in a competitive environment.
- Strong leadership qualities, with experience in managing and inspiring sales teams.
- Extensive knowledge of OTC trading mechanics, risk management, and best practices in crypto asset management.
