Remote VA Experienced Outpatient Medical Full Time & Part Time Coders

Summary

As a result of recent new VHA contracts awarded, Cooper Thomas, LLC, a leading provider of medical coding, auditing, and training services to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), has immediate openings for VA experienced Full- and Part-Time Outpatient Coders. Positions available as a 1099/Subcontractor, W-2 with no benefits as well as a W-2 with benefits. Applicants must have at least 2 years of medical coding experience. Flexible schedule within the confines of a Monday-Sunday work week. Due to the nature of the work, previous experience with VA is required. You must be able to pass an initial entrance exam. This work will be performed remotely in your home office.

If you have recently left VHA due to DRP and/or early retirement or presently work for a VHA contractor, a full-time or part-time position may be right for you.

A Signing Bonus of $2,000 will be paid to those candidates who meet the qualifications below and have an active Background Investigation, PIV Card, and an active VA Contractor・€・s Citrix Access Account or an active Moonlighter Account. Qualifications

ツキ Must be able to perform the full scope of multi-specialty OP clinic, ED, minor procedures, radiology, rehabilitation, and lab encounters utilizing ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.

ツキ At least two (2) years of VA or other relevant coding experience, either as a VA employee or with another Government contractor supporting VA

ツキ Must produce copies of and maintain active credentials as a certified coder

ツキ Ability to follow site-specific coding guidelines

ツキ Familiar with E/M leveling for OP and ED visits using 95・€・, 97・€・ and 2022 guidelines

ツキ Familiar with E/M calculator and ability to use this tool proficiently

ツキ Familiar with 3M Encoder for ICD10 and CPT coding

ツキ Knowledge in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pathology and disease processes, pharmacology, health record format and content, reimbursement methodologies and conventions, rules and guidelines for current classification systems (ICD, CPT, HCPCS).

ツキ Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

ツキ Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)

ツキ Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)

Minimum Education

ツキ High School Diploma or equivalent
