Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development of an innovative, cloud-hosted educational technology platform focused on immersive cybersecurity training. This role combines technical expertise with hands-on development, requiring strong foundational engineering skills and enthusiasm for creating scalable, user-centric software solutions. The position is remote and requires a collaborative approach to implementing an immersive cyber education experience. This role is for a full-stack developer who will work closely with both engineering and UX professionals, contributing to feature ideation, design, and development.
You will guide the team in designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful APIs by employing concepts like API First Design. Following service-oriented architecture principles, you will build and improve a robust Typescript backend connected to a React frontend. A key focus will be developing the service's ability to deploy and manage virtual cyber training environments in Azure cloud infrastructure. Most importantly, you'll work closely with various stakeholders to facilitate dynamic Cyber Range building, ensuring these specialized environments meet training requirements and can be rapidly deployed on demand, monitored, and cleaned up.

How You Will Add Value
ツキ Lead development of the Project Ares ・・Range Service・・ and associated monitoring and administration components, a critical piece of Project Ares that is responsible for on-demand orchestration and configuration of cyber range environments, including architecting, implementing, and establishing test cases.
ツキ Drive technical decisions and establish best practices for RESTful API development using standards like OpenAPI
ツキ Mentor junior engineers on the team and foster an empathetic and collaborative development environment
ツキ Design and implement scalable services in TypeScript that integrate with Azure cloud services
ツキ Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation for internal and external stakeholders
ツキ Conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and knowledge sharing
ツキ Establish monitoring and alerting for production services to ensure high availability
ツキ Proactively identify and address technical debt to maintain system health
ツキ Collaborate with stakeholders and other engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
Required Skills & Experience
ツキ 6+ years of professional software development experience with at least 3 years of full-stack development
ツキ Strong proficiency in Typescript and React
ツキ Experience building RESTful APIs
ツキ Understanding of service-oriented design principles
ツキ Familiarity with API-first development approaches
ツキ Experience writing automated tests
ツキ Experience using CI/CD pipelines
ツキ BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related field, or equivalent industry experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
ツキ Experience with Azure ARM templates and infrastructure as code
ツキ Experience with Azure cloud services
ツキ Familiarity with Azure SDK
ツキ Proven track record of technical leadership in small teams
ツキ Experience with event-driven architecture patterns
ツキ Knowledge of database technologies including PostgreSQL and NoSQL solutions
ツキ Experience with messaging systems such as 0MQ or Azure Service Bus
ツキ Experience with SaltStack and/or Ansible
ツキ Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and logging solutions
ツキ Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions
